Walker wants to create a new community on Queensland’s Gold Coast which we’re calling ‘Breakwater’. The site is 73 hectares of neglected farmland sitting between Merrimac and Robina neighbourhoods.
Our vision for Breakwater is an inclusive, active community with 1,500 new homes, which will blend in with Merrimac and Robina, while providing new parks, lakes, walking trails and cycle ways.
Important features of Breakwater will be:
the road connections it provides between Merrimac and Robina, and facilities such as Robina Town Centre, the railway station, schools, the hospital and sports facilities.
the commitment to prioritise the management of flood events, ensuring the new Breakwater neighbourhood and roads meet flood standards.
Our aim is to incorporate and rehabilitate the natural features of the site providing a vibrant new community set within open space, and easily accessible from the surrounding neighbourhood.
